One of the most common styles of acoustic guitars, the dreadnought body is relatively large, resulting in a bold and often loud tone. With square shoulders and a square bottom, dreadnought guitars have enjoyed particular success among folk and bluegrass musicians due to the dreadnought’s rich, resonant quality. Pretty much the standard shape for flatpickers, dreadnoughts not only produce exceptional deep tones, they’re also known for their articulation and all-around balanced sound.
The GD20CE-NS utilizes Takamine’s TP4T preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output – instantly. A full-featured preamp system, the GD20CE-NS’s TP4T electronics provide you with a handy onboard tuner plus an active shelving EQ with bass, middle, and treble sliders. It also sports a low battery indicator, which is actually even more useful than you might think. And since the preamp is switched on by and off by plugging in and unplugging your GD20CE-NS, it’s hard to accidentally drain the the 9-volt battery.
The Takamine GD20CE-NS acoustic-electric guitar benefits from a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan’s Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music’s biggest stars, including Glenn Frey, Bruce Springsteen, Bruno Mars, and Toby Keith. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine’s instruments employ the finest tonewoods and construction techniques – something you’ll discover for yourself as soon as you pick up your GD20CE-NS for the first time.
