The DM2 TNT Active In-Line Microphone Preamplifier from sE Electronics is intended to be inserted between a passive ribbon or dynamic microphone and a microphone preamplifier (sold separately) to provide gain for the microphone signal. A switch allows you to select between 15 and 30 dB of gain to boost the audio signal, improving the level to your preamp, mixer, or audio interface without adding noise or colouring the sound.
The DM2 offers eight load-impedance settings, allowing you to properly match your microphone and preamp combination and find the sweet spot for optimal results. The sophisticated Class-A design and high-grade FETs provide clean gain with low self-noise. The active preamp requires 48V phantom power for operation and is built with a dedicated output buffer amplifier that reduces RF interference, buzz, and hum while allowing it to drive long cable runs. Additionally, the DM2 offers a roadworthy, slim, all-metal design, ensuring reliable operation for onstage applications in difficult environments.
- Switchable, clean, and consistent gain from moderate +15 dB to explosive +30 dB
