With the size of a combo, but sporting two 12″ 60-watt Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, this compact-sized PPC212-OB speaker cabinet from the Orange PPC series features an open-back design and is the same size as the Rockerverb 50C and AD30TC. The Orange speaker cab features a power handling of 120 watts, producing sizzling guitar tone that is unmistakably Orange.

Fitted with a pair of Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, the PPC212OB’s design accentuates the top end frequencies whilst softening the bass response. The split rear panel means the delivery is less directional, creating an airy, spacious and three-dimensional sound. The added presence and chime makes the PPC212OB especially suited for cleaner styles, or for players who want a more vintage combo-type tone from their amp head. The PPC212OB features an 18mm birch plywood shell with our signature skid runners secured to the base to help acoustically couple the cabinet to the stage.

Celestion Vintage 30 Speakers

In the ’80s, Celestion set out to develop a modern speaker capable of delivering classic Alnico Blue-style British guitar tone, but able to handle much more power and overdrive. This was achieved by coupling a Heavy ‘H’ ceramic magnet (the closest in performance to Alnico) with a new cone and voice coil.

The result was the Vintage 30, Celestion’s most revealing speaker. It features enormously detailed and complex overtones, a warm low end, a famously rich vocal mid-range and a beautifully detailed top end. Use on its own to reveal the complexities in hand-wired boutique amps, or in a 4×12 for a wonderfully intricate three-dimensional crunch. Over the past 25 years, the Vintage 30 sound has been captured on thousands of recordings from a diverse range of players.

Finished in Orange’s legendary livery dating back to 1968, the PPC212OB features our basket weave vinyl, woven speaker grille cloth, signature ‘picture frame’ edging and 18mm Birch ply construction.
