Features Inverted Driver Geometry.
The ZX-2 is the larger bookshelf speaker in the ZX range, featuring a 2-way design with two bass/midrange and treble drivers. The ring dome tweeter is formed in two rings, with the voice coil in the centre to drive the tweeter with more accuracy and efficiency. With lower distortion, transient performance is improved, along with high frequency detail.
- 2-way design principle with two bass/midrange drivers and tweeter
- 1.5 inch ring dome tweeter
- Two 5.25 inch DiaDrive aluminium bass drivers
- Inverted driver geometry, placing the tweeter below the midrange for improve timing
- Fine-tuned crossover network for musical cohesion
The bass drivers use Mission’s proprietary DiaDrive cone, with a seamless curvilinear diaphragm as opposed to a standard cone with hub cap. This design improves the efficiency of the driver, improving overall control. The cone is constructed of an advanced aluminium matrix, with a vented subcone to reduce resonance, whilst improving midrange clarity. The ZX-2 employs two 5.25 inch bass/midrange drivers for a low frequency response, with clarity and punch.
The Mission ZX series features inverted driver geometry, placing the tweeter under the midrange driver for improving timing, helping to align the waveforms at the listener’s head height. With an extra bass driver, the ZX-2 features a 2-way configuration for a more focused and accurate musical reproduction. The crossover network has been developed with the highest component choice, and extensively fine-tuned to complement the drivers.
